Understanding yourself often starts with feelings. For example, unpleasant feelings are the signal telling us to pay attention. Feelings can be elusive or challenging, overwhelming or unclear. The feeling wheel is a guide for you to identify your feelings and their intensity. Once you identify your feelings you are in a position for healing, and growth.

If a feeling is positive or pleasurable it reflects you are meeting a need, and if it’s negative or unpleasurable it’s a signal you are not meeting your needs. If you find yourself being triggered this often points to a “tender spot” or core wound.
